Strife Strips
The reason this website is called that is because when I started it I wanted to create a system that would allow me to easily create comics. Some kind of comic editing system that took away a massive amount of the work that was involved, something that just allowed me to concentrate on the comic, rather than the slog of going through the production motions. For several reasons I decided against that and ended up created comics on this site the way I always had on ThisStrife.com

Fast forward to a few weeks ago and the sudden revelation of creating a system that would allow me to easily create comics! What a great idea!

So in my spare time recently I've been creating that long lost editor, utilising the awesome power of JavaScript and DHTML to provide a rich client interface. As you can see in the screenshot to the left here, I can add sprites into the panels which then have little black dots round them to allow them to be easily resized and positioned. Just ignore the fact that I'm using background of me laying down laminate flooring and that the sprites are pictures of my bathroom being fitted... :)

When it's fully working, the sprites will be a massive collection of video game characters that I can quickly slap onto a comic layout. Speaking of which, as you can see in the screenshot the layout of the panels is completely customisable, allowing any type of comic layout to be created!

Once everything is put together the browser front-end harnessing the buzzword technology of AJAX to send to layout data to a C# back-end system which converts the whole thing into a big JPEG/PNG, thus allowing every browser to see the finished comic!

Things are progressing well and I'm still enjoying the project, very nice :)
